The relationship among 2 non-equal values or other mathematical expressions is represented by one of the imperfections known as the less than or equal relation. We are known that the equivalent sign denotes an equivalence between two values and the less than sign denotes a smaller value for one of the variables.

The mathematical equivalent of this is the less than or equal to sign, which is used to show that one value could be less than or equal to another value. “Ess than or equal to” indicates that an integer is less than or equal to another integer, numerical value, or value. Other ways of saying less than or equal include no more than, max of, and not exceeding.

These symbols are an essential component of KS1 arithmetic instruction because they provide students the confidence to identify which values are greater or lower than others. Other names for these symbols include the more than and less than signs.
